This month’s update looks a little different. For August, I’m trying a more reflective style that goes beyond counting output and focuses on what actually moved, what I learned, and what comes next.

The month in one sentence

In August, I moved Operator from feature completion into commercial, App Store, and legal preparation. I did not manage to release it as intended because the final release pipeline remains incomplete.

Last month’s bet

Intended outcome: Release Operator in August.
Result: Partial. I built the launch functionality and product shell, but I have not yet submitted the app for review or released it publicly.
What moved: I published the privacy and support pages, prepared the App Store screenshots and metadata, decided on the pricing model, implemented the Founding Supporter tier, and changed the Apple identity used for the release.
What this changes: New feature work is no longer a useful measure of progress. My next meaningful outcome is completing the signed Apple release path and validating the app outside my development environment.

Business movement

Public product releases: None. I have not put Operator in the hands of external users yet.
Real-use evidence: None. I have no tester installation, download, purchase, review, or direct user feedback yet.
Public logs (1): Log #005. I captured my decision to freeze speculative scope and seek real feedback.
Commercial model: Decided. I will launch Operator for free with a €9.99 Founding Supporter Pass.
Financial result: €0. There was no income or expense this month.

Current focus

Project: Operator
Stage: Launching; I have prepared the product shell and commercial model.
Current constraint: CloudKit production configuration, a two-device synchronization check, and the remaining signed Apple release work.

What August revealed

The difficult part of shipping Operator shifted from building the app to finishing the release. I made substantial progress, but I also felt stuck when facing the final release work. Counting “increments” alone would obscure the real state: I moved the product forward, but I did not reach the goal for August.

Notes

July meant a lot of progress on the conversion of the analog planner to an iOS application. In the process I forgot to create logs, or at least found it very hard to do as mentioned in my last log. But it also marks the end of new features for the app. Expect a release in August!

Notes

June marked an important milestone for Cybernetks: I shipped my first public product. The Cybernetks Planner may be a small release, but it represents the transition from planning to shipping. It won’t be the last.
